Algebra 1 is the first high-school algebra course in the US, usually taken in Grade 8 or 9. It covers linear and exponential relationships, systems of equations, polynomials, factoring and introductory quadratics.
Students normally need Grade 7-8 maths: ratios, proportional relationships, operations with rational numbers and solving simple equations.
